John Brandenburg looking like a hipster with his son.

Hello! My name is John, and I am a web developer specializing in the open source, content management system Drupal (not the plasma physicist who has gained some notoriety for some... interesting ideas). In my career, I've worked with numerous organizations supporting critical systems from fundraising, to public services. I work at a great company called Forum One (my profile), a digital agency with a reputation for working with mission-driven organizations seeking to improve the world.

Here I mostly blog about interesting tools and problems I come across during my work. I also occasionally write about other topics that interest me, such as climate change and voting rights and whatever else I think is worth writing about. This site is a fairly basic Drupal 8 site, currently using the Bootstrap Blog theme. I haven't had much time to customize the look and feel, and I have a long list of enhancements I'd like to make. But, as they say: "The cobbler's children have no shoes." I spend all my time working for my clients! Also spending time with my two young children. There are plenty of changes I would like to make, but that may come in time.  If you do have any suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me on twitter @johnbburg.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, camping, astronomy, working with data and content in interesting ways, learning new web-development tools, and all areas of science.

One thing to notice, is that I don't have any ads on this site. I don't promise that will always be the case. I pay out of my own pocket to keep this server running, and to date. I have recently set up a Patron page if you would like to support my work. If you do appreciate what I am doing, please reach out to me on twitter and let me know. And if you dislike, well still let me know, I'm glad that you took the time to read my writing all the same, and hopefully I was able to make you think about the topic a bit more.
